上次我們學會了殺價（bargain），不知道有沒有幫上你的忙，提你節(jié)省一點money.這次，我們還要繼續(xù)逛，不過去的是street market，像這樣的地方東西本來就很便宜，所以就別講價了，讓做小買賣的人也賺點錢吧！
這次和我們同行的是一對兄妹倆（They are brother and sister），拿著媽媽給他們開的購物單（shopping list），辦年貨去嘍！
（Harry is the brother and Mimi is the sister.）
Harry and Mimi are at a street market for an hour.
Harry: Could we go to a nice warm supermarket? I'm freezing!
Mimi: Quit（停止）complaining（抱怨） and try to enjoy yourself.
It's holiday time.
Harry: It looks like the whole world has come here. People keep bumping（撞） into me!
Mimi: All part of the fun. Hey, look at that fish! It's fresh,
isn't it?
Harry: Maybe, but I don't like the way it's hanging（掛）.
Mimi: Then go over there and fill a bag with those New Year candies（糖果）.
Harry: Great idea!
「讀書筆記」
1、street market是指在街道兩旁搭建攤位的簡易的露天市場，俗稱“菜市場”?，F(xiàn)在人們大多喜歡去supermarket/shopping mall（超級市場）購物。
2、Harry在street market被凍得夠嗆，他說：I'm freezing. freeze是冷凍的意思， freezing可以理解為冷的都要凍冰了，冷極了，是不是很形象呢。
3、quit + Ving是美語用法，意思是停止……妹妹正逛得興致勃勃，當然討厭哥哥抱怨（complain）個沒完，于是對他說，大過年的，你應該讓自己高興一點！（呵呵，這就是所謂“站著說話不腰疼”吧。）
4、It looks like the whole world has come here. 看起來全世界（的人）都到這兒來了。（顯然Harry還要繼續(xù)抱怨，人太多了。）
5、People keep bumping into me! 人們一直撞我。Keep + Ving表示動作不斷重復，并且一直持續(xù)。My little sister kept asking me questions. 我的小妹妹總是問我問題。
6、Bump是不及物動詞，后面必須有介詞才可以接賓語，通常和 into, against搭配，表示“碰、撞”的意思。比如：The bus bumped into the car in front. 巴士撞上了前面的汽車。物體之間可以相撞，人和人相撞你見過嗎？I bumped into my sweetheart at a night market. 我和我的戀人是在夜市上邂逅的。在這里，bump into就表示“撞見、巧遇”的意思。
7、All part of the fun. 這是節(jié)日樂趣的一部分。
8、Maybe, but I don't like the way it's hanging. 哥哥對妹妹采取不合作的態(tài)度說：也許吧，但我不喜歡它掛在那里的樣子。Way指方式，the way it's hanging 它掛著的方式。
9、妹妹聽出了哥哥的不滿情緒，Then go over there and fill a bag with those New Year candies. 那你去那邊買一兜子新年糖果回來吧。fill …with…是裝滿、填滿的意思，He filled my glass with beer. 他給我的杯子斟滿了啤酒。還有一個短語be full of 也表示同樣的意思，My glass is full of beer. 我的杯里裝滿了酒。（注意：fill…with和be full of雖然意思相同，可是用法不一樣，fill是動詞，可以直接接主語，full是形容詞，前面必須要有be才能接主語。）
10、這個主意正中Harry下懷，他大叫Great idea，比good idea情緒高昂得多。忽然想起那天一位男同事問我：How about going to a movie tonight? 好久沒人約我了，我大聲回答：Great idea! 他大笑，原來那天是4月1號（Fool's Day）。

It 作形式主語代替主語從句（that the whole world has come here），主要是為了平衡句子結構，避免頭重腳輕。
它的形式是這樣的：it＋不及物動詞＋從句
It happens （seems, appears, looks ） that …來看兩個例子：
It seems （that） he will be back in a few days.
看來他會在幾天內回來。
It happened （that） he met his teacher in the street.
他碰巧在街上遇到了他的老師。
