Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Grade 7 £27,466 – £33,780 p.a.
Molecular mechanisms in cardiac development
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join a group that is studying the genetic networks that control cardiac development (see Nature Genetics 2001, 2004; Genes&Dev 2008 in press).
The project will focus on the transcription factor Cited2 and its role in heart development and left-right patterning. A key aim is to define the Cited2 protein interaction network and understand how it is disrupted by disease-causing mutations. The approaches used are interdisciplinary (see http://www.well.ox.ac.uk/bhattacharya ), combining molecular genetics, proteomics, developmental biology and novel imaging approaches. The project is funded by a Wellcome Trust Program Grant for 5 years.
Further particulars, which detail the application procedure, should be obtained from http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/fp/ or http://www.cardiov.ox.ac.uk/vacancies
The closing date for applications is 27th June 2008. Interviews will be held early in July.
Please contact Professor Shoumo Bhattacharya (sbhattac@well.ox.ac.uk) to informally discuss the post. The appointment is available from August 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
