Officials in the Eastern India say ten million people have been affected by flooding and torrential monsoon rains. In the state of Assam and Bihar at least 38 people are known to have died. But Chief Administer of Assam said the army was using helicopters to drop release supplies to thousands of stranded villages. Sanjoy Majumder reports from Delhi.

And the Authorities in Bangladesh are trying to reach hundreds of thousands of people marooned out of their homes and villages where inundated by floods."
