字號(hào):

Can I have your attention please ?
Can I have your attention please?
Paul: (In noisy crowded room) (Quietly) Excuse me! (No response)
Paul: (A little louder ) Listen up everybody! (No response)
Paul: (Louder) I have an announcement to make. (No response)
Paul: (Shouts) Can I have your attention please? (Everyone stops and turns towards Paul)
Crowd: Now that you've got our attention, what's so important?
Paul: It took so long to get you to listen to me that I've forgotten. Sorry, please go back to whatever you were doing.
你可以說(shuō)May/Can/Could I have your attention please?用Might代May也可以,但說(shuō)起來(lái)頗覺(jué)生硬。 (1) May I please have your attention? The police have received reports alleging that a bomb has been planted somewhere in this building.(請(qǐng)各位注意。 (2) Attention please. The library will close in thirty minutes.(請(qǐng)注意,圖書館將于三十分鐘后關(guān)閉)。
May I have your ear please? If I may have your ear for a moment, I will tell you what they are going to do.(假如你愿意聽(tīng)的話,我可以告訴你,他們會(huì)怎樣做)。
聽(tīng)人家說(shuō)話或聽(tīng)取人家意見(jiàn),則可以叫做to lend one's/an ear to someone/something,直譯是‘把耳朵借給某人/某事’,例如:(1) A ruler must lend an ear to the people's opinions.(統(tǒng)治者必須聽(tīng)取百姓的意見(jiàn))。(2) Ladies and gentlemen, please lend me your ears for a few minutes.(各位,請(qǐng)聽(tīng)我說(shuō)幾句話)。
有時(shí),你會(huì)聽(tīng)到人家說(shuō)if you please,例如:Lend me your ears, if you please (= Lend me your ears, please)。
