My Native Town
My native town is ××，where my family have lived for several generations. It is not a prosperous place， but it is well known and well worth visiting because it has several spots of historical interest. I am very glad that my native town is ××， not some other town.
There are about 8，000 inhabitants in my home town. Most of them are farmers and tradesmen. But the town has always boasted a few learned men.
There are in the village two primary schools， two middle schools and one little library. There are also three bookshops， but they don't sell any English books.
Electric lights， telephone system and radio sets give the town a “modern”appearance.
As for the spots of historical interests， I cannot say much. Here， for I haven't made a study of them yet. One of them is a small cottage where a poet two hundred years ago is said to have lived for thirty-six years.
