最近對(duì)讀者的書(shū)評(píng)有點(diǎn)興趣，還是先看看原文：

I must admit that I read this book because of its sales rank, and also because I read the author's another book, "Tuesdays with Morrie." I read "Tuesdays with Morrie," because of its sales rank, and its overall favorable reviews, and because a very close friend of mine read it. My impression: both books and the author are way over-rated.

over-rated是指評(píng)價(jià)高了一點(diǎn)，呵呵，如今的世道就是這樣，沒(méi)有這種通貨膨脹式的評(píng)價(jià)，似乎就沒(méi)有人愿意看了，反過(guò)來(lái)，人們似乎愿意看那些虛夸的東西，想起了哈姆雷特的話：這個(gè)脫了節(jié)的時(shí)代！
rate還可以跟其他的詞配合，比如，first-rate是一流的，Our lab equipment is first-rate in the country. 更加時(shí)髦的詞應(yīng)該是cutting edge technology, 尖端科技，還有state of the art technology最先進(jìn)的科技——因?yàn)樘冗M(jìn)了，成了一種藝術(shù)了，普通老百姓是無(wú)法理解了。
好，廢話少說(shuō)，還是來(lái)看主要的對(duì)象：way.這個(gè)詞，有誰(shuí)沒(méi)有學(xué)過(guò)？可是，這個(gè)詞使用的時(shí)候，母語(yǔ)的人把它當(dāng)作“道路”“方法”“辦法”的意義來(lái)使用的概率肯定比我們的低，因?yàn)?，他們常常?huì)把它當(dāng)作副詞來(lái)使用，表示一種程度，表示too much，quite，extremely.那么，way over-rated就是extremely over-rated.比如下面的對(duì)話：
A: He died several years ago, right?
B: No, way back. To be exact, 12 years ago.
A: 他幾年前死的，對(duì)嗎？
B：不對(duì)，老早了。準(zhǔn)確地說(shuō)，12年以前。
再比如說(shuō)：I can drink way more than he does. 這是醉漢在說(shuō)話呢，我比他能喝多了。
現(xiàn)在大家都會(huì)砍價(jià)，可以說(shuō)：way too expensive 貴得離譜。
還有就是，學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的方法那么多，大家都吹噓自己的方法獨(dú)一無(wú)二，神丹妙藥，是不是也有點(diǎn)way over-rated? 什么方法都試過(guò)，到頭來(lái)，還是困難重重，學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)依然way too difficult.
不說(shuō)了，已經(jīng)說(shuō)得way too much了。還是看一看這個(gè)文字的寫(xiě)法吧。

前面兩個(gè)I read后面接的都是一樣的句式，I read something because of, and also because+句子，當(dāng)然，第二句I read增加了一個(gè)because of，語(yǔ)氣越發(fā)強(qiáng)了起來(lái)。第三句就來(lái)結(jié)論了，沒(méi)有什么廢話，直截了當(dāng)?shù)卣f(shuō)My impression，而不是說(shuō)什么套話，in my opinion, my view is, I have this opinion or that view，直接說(shuō)My impression再加一個(gè)冒號(hào)！后面就是評(píng)論：both books and the author are way over-rated. 呵呵，想起來(lái)孔夫子對(duì)詩(shī)經(jīng)的評(píng)論：詩(shī)三百，一言蔽之，曰思無(wú)邪。風(fēng)格居然很近！
