這個習(xí)語的意思也是“兩面派，看風(fēng)使舵的人”。這個片語來自于宗教改革時的英國。最初英國是嚴(yán)格信奉天主教的，但是因為教皇的統(tǒng)治妨害了國王的利益，于是英國自上而下開始了一場宗教改革，在幾任國王和女王的統(tǒng)治中，宗教政策改來改去，一個牧師想要在不變原則的情況下保持教職是非常困難的事。The vicar of Bray 就是指的Berkshire，Bray的一個牧師不斷變換原則以便保有教職的事。我們看個例子：
