2004年9月22日,一家伊斯蘭網(wǎng)站播放的錄像畫面顯示,上周在伊拉克被綁架的英國人質(zhì)比格利還活著,他流著眼淚向首相布萊爾求救,請求他不要錯(cuò)過最后的機(jī)會,要盡力幫助挽救他的生命。但是路透社表示,英國政府看來不會向綁架者讓步。英國外交大臣斯特勞說,如果英國向綁架者讓步,那將使伊拉克和世界任何地方都不安全。

    "I think this is possibly my last chance to speak to somebody who will listen... I don't want to die in Iraq I don't deserve that," Kenneth Bigley, a contractor abducted with two American colleagues last week, said on a video posted on the Internet.
    Abduct的意思是“誘拐, 綁架”。例如:The police think the boy has been abducted.(警方認(rèn)為這個(gè)男孩被人拐跑了)。
