直譯過來而進入漢語詞匯的外來成語是否仍保留原來成語的意義？從粗略的調查來看，保留原來意義的還是多數(shù)，但也有意義改變的情況。下面舉“舊瓶裝新酒”這個例子來說明。
《漢語常用成語手冊》中明確指出：漢語的“舊瓶裝新酒”就是來自《新約？馬太福音》的new wine in old bottles.漢語借來這個成語時，實際上并沒有借來它的原義，而是根據(jù)形式另賦予新的意義。
