這句話是出自弗朗西斯.培根(Francis Bacon)的《談讀書》(Of Studies)。
Maketh是make的古語，現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)不再使用，大家只要了解一下就可以了。
Full，在這里指完美的，度的；(資格等)正式的。A full man就是完人；get a full marks得滿分；a full member正式成員。
Conference，除了解釋為會(huì)議之外，還有discussion (討論)的意思。
Ready，這個(gè)詞有許多種解釋。比如說：Are you ready?你準(zhǔn)備好了嗎？還有一種解釋就是樂意的，a ready helper樂于助人者。而在這里的ready means the ability to think quickly，就是快的，迅捷的；機(jī)靈的。比如說give a ready reply脫口而出的答案。

lust means an overwhelming desire or craving:強(qiáng)烈的欲望或渴望。例如：a lust for power.對(duì)權(quán)力的渴望；a lust for life.對(duì)生活的渴望。lust常和for , of連用。
關(guān)于渴望，我們還可以說：thirst for/long for/yearn for。thrust for means an insistent desire; a craving:是指渴望一種持久的愿望；熱望。a thirst for knowledge.求知欲。long for也表示渴望的意思。例如：People are longing for peace.人們渴望和平。We are longing to see you.我們渴望看見你。yearn for means to have a strong, often melancholy desire.指渴望懷有強(qiáng)烈、經(jīng)常是憂愁的愿望。例如：They yearned for his return.他們盼望著他回來。
