2.現(xiàn)在進行時的一種特殊用法
一般情況下，現(xiàn)在進行時就是表示眼下正在發(fā)生的事情，但是，有時候，這種意境會被有所夸大，從而賦予了它一種特殊的含義。
示例1：Everyone is losing money these days.(其實丟錢的人還是少數(shù)的，但對于說話者來說，可能聽到丟錢的事情好幾次了，所以，就夸大了一點，變成了人人、隨時隨刻都在丟錢了！)
示例2：She is always eating.(always一般是與一般現(xiàn)在時配合使用的，但這里很清楚，是與現(xiàn)在進行時配合；其實呢，這個she不可能是什么時候都在吃東西的，但說話者夸大之下我們也可以悟出一些道理來，那就是這個人吃東西的頻率還是很高的！)
3.關于It could be worse.
這類說法非常有水平：在表示事情還沒有糟糕到的時候這么說，會讓人立馬感受到說話者的幽默和水準。譯成中文可以這樣講：事情還沒有壞到頂；還算好；還算幸運。。。
再如：It couldn’t be worse! 簡直糟透了！
再如：It could be better. 還沒好到頂。//還可以更好些。
再如：It couldn’t be better! 簡直好極了！
