SARS如果復反，疫情不再嚴重
BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Saturday it was prepared to prevent any new outbreak of SARS from reaching the scale of the epidemic that killed more than 300 and infected more than 5,300 people in the country this year.
北京（路透社） 據星期六報道，中國開始部署防治非典的工作。這種簡稱SARS的病毒今年曾感染了5300多名中國人，致300多人死亡。
"The Chinese government has intensified measures to prevent and control the disease. Even if SARS returns, the scenario like what had happened in China earlier this year will definitely not occur," Gao Qiang, executive deputy health minister, was quoted by the Xinhua news agency as saying.
“中國政府已經加強預防和控制措施。即使非典再次襲來，也不會再有當初那樣嚴重的疫情。”新華社引用中國衛(wèi)生部副部長高強的發(fā)言報道說。
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome hit southern China about a year ago and was spread by travelers to 30 countries, killing more than 700 people and infecting about 8,500 worldwide before being brought under control in June.
一年前，呼吸系統(tǒng)綜合癥襲擊中國華南地區(qū)，之后傳播到30多個國家，700多人死亡。在六月份得到控制之前，世界上共有8500人感染。
Global health officials have been waiting for a possible resurgence of the disease with the onset of winter.
隨著冬天的來臨，世界衛(wèi)生組織已做好一切準備迎接非典的復發(fā)。
Gao said China had found no new cases of SARS but if a case was reported, the Ministry of health would announce it quickly.
高先生說，中國沒有發(fā)現新的非典病例，如果有，中國衛(wèi)生部門一定會及時發(fā)布。
China came under heavy international criticism early this year for covering up the extent of the outbreak. But in April, the new leadership headed by President Hu Jintao sacked the health minister and Beijing mayor and ordered full disclosure of the extent of the epidemic.
中國在今年年初因為隱瞞了部分非典疫情受到來自世界范圍的批評。但在四月，新的國家領導人胡錦濤上臺后，撤銷國家衛(wèi)生部部長和北京市市長的職位，公布了真實疫情。
"I cannot say SARS will definitely return, neither can I say SARS will definitely not return, because there are still many things about SARS that we don't know," Xinhua quoted Gao as telling reporters.
“我不能肯定非典一定會復發(fā)或者一定不復發(fā)。因為關于非典我們不知道的還很多。”
Local and provincial governments had drawn up plans against SARS and some have staged exercises to handle emergency cases. The ministry had also stepped up training of medical workers and research on prevention and control, he said.
地方政府和各省認真制訂工作預案并適時組織了模擬演練。開展了醫(yī)護人員培訓并組建應急救治隊伍。新華社引用高先生在答記者問時的說話。
