字號(hào):

    There'll be just a few trailers.
    對(duì)話
    Walt: Thank goodness the ads are over. They go on for far too long.
    Ingo: Yes, there'll be just a few trailers and then the movie will start.
    Walt: I don't mind trailers, at least they're not trying to sell you anything.
    Ingo: Of course they are, they're trying to sell you the latest movies.
    Walt: Well, I suppose so, but they're a lot more exciting than the ads.
    Ingo: If you ask me, they're sometimes a lot more exciting than the movies themselves.
    華爾:謝天謝地,廣告終于播放完了。廣告時(shí)間實(shí)在太長。
    英戈:沒錯(cuò),再播幾部預(yù)告片,電影就會(huì)開始。
    華爾:我不介意看預(yù)告片;至少預(yù)告片不是要推銷什么東西。
    英戈:怎么不是。預(yù)告片就是要推銷最新的電影。
    華爾:嗯,也許是吧,但預(yù)告片比廣告好看得多。
    英戈:依我看,預(yù)告片有時(shí)比電影本身都好看得多。
    電*放映電影前,一般先播廣告,再播電影預(yù)告片。廣告當(dāng)然是advertisement,簡稱為ad或advert;廣告片則可叫做advertising film,例如:The commercial received high praise at the Advertising Film Festival(那部電視廣告片在廣告電影節(jié)中大獲贊賞)。留意電視臺(tái)、廣播電臺(tái)播出的廣告,美式英文叫commercial,英式則叫advertisement或commercial。報(bào)刊廣告則無論英美都叫advertisement,不可叫commercial。國際廣告電影節(jié)包括電視廣告。Some commercials on television are quite interesting即‘有些電視廣告片頗為有趣’。電*放映的電影預(yù)告片,叫trailer或preview,但preview還可以指電影的試映,或稱sneak preview,例如:(1) I was invited to a (sneak) preview of the new movie(我獲邀觀看那部新電影的試映)。(2) Trailers for a few upcoming movies were shown, but they did not appeal to me(電*放映了未來幾部電影的預(yù)告片,但都不能引起我的興趣)。(Sneak有‘偷偷的’、‘非正式的’含義,I despise those who make sneak attacks on others即 ‘我看不起偷偷攻擊別人者’。最后談?wù)動(dòng)⒏暾f的if you ask me。這詞組直譯是‘假如你問我’,常用來帶出自己的意見,等于‘我認(rèn)為’,例如:If you ask me, she is not as carefree as she appears(依我看,她并不是像她表面上那樣無憂無慮的)。
