1. 放在一起使用表示（程度上）更強(qiáng)；更多
eg:He earns a lot more than I do.
他賺的錢比我多多了。
2.還可以表示不止；多于
西城男孩（Westlife）有一首膾炙人口的歌叫做 You raise me up. 其中有一句歌詞就是
“You raise me up...
to more than I can be”
more than I can be： 超越我自己。
此外, more than 還可以和其他詞匯一起構(gòu)成好用的說(shuō)法。比如：
more than words can say
字面意思：多于語(yǔ)言能夠表達(dá)的
實(shí)際意思：溢于言表
有一首老歌叫 I love you more than I can say. 翻譯過(guò)來(lái)：愛(ài)你在心口難開(kāi)。
3.no more than 至多；不超過(guò)
eg:There is room for no more than 3 cars.
這地最多只能放三輛車。
4.分開(kāi)寫(xiě)表示 與其...不如...
注意：跟漢語(yǔ)的語(yǔ)序相反，英語(yǔ)里是 “不如”在前，“與其”在后
eg:He is more diligent than wise.
與其說(shuō)他聰明，倒不如說(shuō)他勤奮。
• more diligent 不如說(shuō)是勤奮
• than wise 與其說(shuō)是聰明
