珠江是廣東的母親河，哺育著千萬南粵兒女。上世紀(jì)80年代以來，隨著經(jīng)濟的高速發(fā)展，珠江象我國許多大江大河一樣，難逃被高速污染的命運，江面垃圾漂游，江水黑臭油膩，暢游珠江早已成“老廣州”的美好追憶。近年來，廣州市政府狠下決心投巨資整治珠江，使珠江水質(zhì)日漸好轉(zhuǎn)，基本消除了黑臭現(xiàn)象，這一成績有目共睹。但是，一個不容回避的事實是，不黑不臭的珠江，不等于可以讓市民暢游。
Bonny:
We are going to do some research on the pollution of the Pearl River. Do you have any idea about it?

Since pollution is one of the biggest problems in the world, I’m sure a lot of people are interested in this topic.

Polluted water is a great danger to people’s health, so I think our work is very meaningful.
