"Pet Shop Boys 寵物店男孩"，主唱原本是位雜志編輯，鍵盤手則是建筑系學生，因為彼此都熱愛舞曲音樂而結合。首支單曲" West end girls 西區(qū)女孩"原本發(fā)行于1984年，在美國成績不措，在英國卻默默無名。86年，他們更換制作人將這首歌重新整理再度發(fā)行，結果在全世界竟都得到排行冠軍。
