禪讓
“禪”意為“在祖宗面前大力推薦”，“讓”指“讓出首領(lǐng)之位”。禪讓制度是我國原始社會部落聯(lián)盟民主推選首領(lǐng)的制度，據(jù)說當(dāng)部落聯(lián)盟首領(lǐng)堯年老時，召集了部落聯(lián)盟會議，推舉有才德的舜為繼承人。禪讓是在位君主自愿進(jìn)行的，是為了讓更賢能的人統(tǒng)治國家。

Abdicate and Hand Over the Crown to Another Person
The system of abdicating and handing over the crown to another person was used for the democratic election of the leaders of the tribal alliance in the primitive society. It is said that when the leader of the tribal alliance Yao became aged, he convened the meeting of the tribal alliance to recommend and choose the talented and virtuous Shun as his successor.
