中華人民共和國教育部是中華人民共和國國務院主管教育事業(yè)和語言文字工作的國務院組成部門。教育部有19個內(nèi)設(shè)司、局，還直接管理15個教育類社會團體和組織。教育部的職責有研究擬定教育工作的方針、政策;起草有關(guān)教育的法律、法規(guī)草案;負責教育基本信息的統(tǒng)計、分析和發(fā)布等。它既是行政管理機構(gòu)，也是國立院校的經(jīng)營者。

Ministry of the P.R.C. is a department in charge of education and language work under the State Council of the P.R.C. It has 19 departments and bureaus, as well as directly running 15 educational social communities and organizations. It is mainly responsible for studying and drafting the guidelines and policies on education, drafting laws and regulations relevant to education and engaging in statistical analysis, analysis and publication of basic information in education, etc. It is both an administrative authority and an operator of state-run institutions.
