“Patriotic Love for Macau” refers to, after the return of Macau, a right ideology featuring the mutual care and help between the people of Macau and the Chinese mainland, an awareness of home and country formed between the people of Macau and the mainland, the recognition for the country and nation as well as the personal identity, and it has become the good tradition featuring the inherited “l(fā)ove for China and patriotic feelings”. According to a survey released by the “One China, Two Systems” Research Center of Macau Polytechnic Institute in 2013, the recognition of people in Macau for the ideology of “patriotic love for Macau”, “One Country, Two Systems” and “showing respect to the aged, care to the young and thanksgiving to others” ranks among the top 3 in terms of the social core values of the people of Macau, and the concept “Patriotic Love for Macau” has gained popularity among the people.
