“六月六”是漢族和一些其他少數(shù)民族的傳統(tǒng)佳節(jié)，由于居住地區(qū)不同，過節(jié)的日期、節(jié)日內(nèi)容也不統(tǒng)一;漢族和一些布依族、侗族、瑤族、壯族等地區(qū)在農(nóng)歷六月初六過節(jié)。這天的民俗活動(dòng)有“洗曬節(jié)”“曬秋節(jié)”“伏羊節(jié)”“曬經(jīng)節(jié)”“天貺節(jié)”“禾苗節(jié)”“洗象日”等。因這時(shí)天氣已非常悶熱，又正值雨季，濕度大，極易霉腐損壞。所以在全國各地，從城鎮(zhèn)到農(nóng)家小院都有很多類似洗浴和曬物的習(xí)俗節(jié)日。

The Double Six Festival is a traditional festival celebrated by Han and some of the ethnic minorities in China. Though dates and customs differ across locations, Han and some districts of Buyi, Dong, and Zhuang minorities typically celebrate it on June 6th. On that day, customs include “Washing and Drying”, “Basking in the Harvest”, “Eating Lamb on Hot Days”, “Drying Classics”, “Day of Plenty”, “Grain Seeding”, “Washing the Elephant Day”, etc. As things easily mold and rot in the stiflingly summer and humidity of the rainy season, various festivals include bathing and drying from urban to rural areas nationwide.
