野三坡地處北京西部，河北省西北部，保定市淶水縣境內(nèi)。位于中國北方兩大山脈(太行山脈和燕山山脈)交匯處。野三坡還有完整的地址遺跡，各類不整合面清晰，侵入巖、火山巖、沉積巖、變質(zhì)巖各類巖石遺跡齊全，異常發(fā)育的構(gòu)造節(jié)理、斷層、褶皺等構(gòu)造遺跡突出，山地夷平面、河流階地各種擬態(tài)等地貌遺跡豐富多彩。
