《平凡的世界》是中國作家路遙創(chuàng)作的一部百萬字的小說，全書共三部。該書以中國70年代中期到80年代中期十年間為背景，通過復(fù)雜的矛盾糾葛，以孫少安和孫少平兩兄弟為中心，刻畫了當(dāng)時社會各階層眾多普通人的形象，深刻地展示了普通人在大時代歷史進(jìn)程中所走過的艱難曲折的道路。1991年3月該小說獲中國第三屆茅盾文學(xué)獎。

The Ordinary World
The Ordinary World is a novel created by Lu Yao, a Chinese writer, which is composed of three sections and 1 million characters. The book takes place in China in the ten years between the mid-1970s and mid-1980s. Through the complicated contradictions and disputes of two brothers-- Sun Shao'an and Sun Shaoping, the novel portrays ordinary people from each level of social hierarchy and deeply demonstrates the arduous and tortuous path that this historical period went through. In March 1991, the novel won the third Chinese Mao Dun Literature Award.
