【釋義】：If you wear something away or if it wears away, it becomes thin and eventually disappears because it is used a lot or rubbed a lot.
【例句】：As water wears away the stones and floods wash away the soil, so you destroy people's hope.
【GRE】：The changing course of a river channel as the action of the water wears away the rocks past which the river flows.
