剛考完看看手機(jī)已經(jīng)下午兩點(diǎn)了，從九點(diǎn)到現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)五個小時了，人在集中精力感覺時間流淌的特別快。 Verbal 154, Quantitative 168，明年再考一次吧。:
Issue: 59. Scientists and other researchers should focus their research on areas that are likely to benefit the greatest number of people.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.
Argument: 7. The following is a recommendation from the Board of Directors of Monarch Books.
We recommend that Monarch Books open a café in its store. Monarch, having been in business at the same location for more than twenty years, has a large customer base because it is known for its wide selection of books on all subjects. Clearly, opening the café would attract more customers. Space could be made for the café by discontinuing the children's book section, which will probably become less popular given that the most recent national census indicated a significant decline in the percentage of the population under age ten. Opening a café will allow Monarch to attract more customers and better compete with Regal Books, which recently opened its own café.
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation is likely to have the predicted result. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.
第一個出來的是Verbal，點(diǎn)背啊!!還好，第一個Verbal比較簡單，做完還有八九分鐘的樣子，又檢查了一遍。
Quantitative不難，可惜的是關(guān)鍵的單詞有不認(rèn)識的，比較一個半球的體積和相同半徑和高cylinder的體積，我不知道cylinder是圓柱還是圓錐啊，就猜是圓錐吧，回來一查知道悲劇了?？磥頊?zhǔn)備Quantitative的一個關(guān)鍵是一定認(rèn)識一些數(shù)學(xué)詞匯，比如之前考了一個reciprocal，很多人不是悲劇了嗎?
中間休息十分鐘，隨便吃了點(diǎn)東西，還好早飯吃的多，沒有感到餓。吃東西的時候就已經(jīng)預(yù)料到將要被第二個Verbal暴干了，正如我所料。
第二個Verbal的填空題句子明顯變的更難讀懂了，單詞也有一些不認(rèn)識，記得的詞匯有punctuate、puncture、disparage、dismiss，panacea又考了。有些填空題和閱讀題貌似以前的機(jī)經(jīng)有人回憶過，那個actress的閱讀又考了?？歼^的拿到填空題是辭職是一種bold的行為，同時又是a height of passivity還是an act of desperation?考前大家多看以前的機(jī)經(jīng)吧。感覺這場考試就毀在第二個verbal上了，而且我確定第二個verbal一定不是加試。
第二個quantitative也不難，不過不小心還是會看錯一些題的，我留十分鐘檢查發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個錯誤，盡管如此，還是有不小心掉進(jìn)陷阱的。
第三個verbal也明顯變簡單了，跟第一個的verbal的難度差不多。
然后就結(jié)束了考試。
不知道最后Report的score是不是最后的成績，ETS會不會還要調(diào)整一次，麻煩之前出成績的同學(xué)告知一下。
感覺新GRE的設(shè)計還是比較科學(xué)的，雖然考的很一般，但準(zhǔn)備的過程中詞匯量和英語水平都提高了不少。新G對單詞的要求確實(shí)沒以前高了，不過邏輯這一關(guān)更需要長期的磨練和總結(jié)。
