1、充分利用外教課。上外教課時，你就敞開了說吧，咱可是交了學(xué)費的！千萬別指望哪天在馬路上遇到一個行色匆匆的外國人，上去搭訕說：“Can I practice English with you？”人家的回答基本如下：“Well， How much can you pay？”
2、跟室友設(shè)定English Time。在English Time時間內(nèi)，大家只能用英語交談。比如你們將午飯時間定為English Time，屆時大家可以一起用英語聊聊食堂飯菜、社團活動、聽過的講座、當(dāng)前的時事新聞等。開始的時候你可能會不適應(yīng)，經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)表達停滯的狀況，甚至?xí)a(chǎn)生放棄的念頭，但是如果堅持下去，你的口語就會有意想不到的效果。
3、經(jīng)常播放英文的經(jīng)典電影、名人演講、談話節(jié)目，讓英語才離你眼，便入你耳。我推薦大家多聽影視對白或訪談。從各種對話中，我們會找到實用的口語表達素材；從精彩的對白中，我們能體會到英語母語人士的思維方式和幽默感。有很多同學(xué)可能想通過聽英語新聞報道提高口語，個人覺得它對提高聽力水平和積累詞匯非常有幫助，但其語調(diào)與用詞過于正式，不適合在生活中運用，因此對提高口語水平方面的幫助相對較小。

如何在面試中使用準(zhǔn)備好的雅思口語材料，避免陷入被動局面也是一個非常重要的問題。在面試過程中，可能會出現(xiàn)一些考生沒有準(zhǔn)備好的問題。如果準(zhǔn)備好的問題與未準(zhǔn)備好的問題的答案（包括語言風(fēng)格和流利程度）有很大差異，考官首先會懷疑準(zhǔn)備好的答案，認(rèn)為對考生水平的判斷是不可靠的，而且往往不是。當(dāng)考生講完后，他們會打斷話題，然后轉(zhuǎn)到另一個話題，或者就考生答案的內(nèi)容提出更多的問題。干擾越多，考試就越被動。因此，考生必須對自己記憶的材料進行技術(shù)處理，以保持整個面試過程的連貫性，從語言到表情，給考官一個自然而非斧頭般的印象（自然）。
此外，應(yīng)聘者應(yīng)該對你想要得到的分?jǐn)?shù)持現(xiàn)實態(tài)度。雅思考試報名大部分考生得分在4-7分之間，5分可以通過，6分比較好。沒有現(xiàn)實，考生的得分目標(biāo)不應(yīng)該太高。否則，任何不情愿只會給自己帶來不利影響。此外，雅思成績與獎學(xué)金沒有太大關(guān)系，英國等國提供的獎學(xué)金數(shù)額也很小?？忌梢愿鶕?jù)自己的實際水平準(zhǔn)備口試，避免壓力和忽視重要性，以滿足過關(guān)的要求。
