      主題
      金屬鉛導(dǎo)致船員死亡
      R&L對(duì)照
      Reading:
      1.不太可能是罐頭里的食物被污染,因?yàn)殂U在外部;
      2.沒(méi)有報(bào)告顯示其他船上的船員中毒;
      3.水被污染了。
      Lecture:反駁
      1.工作壓力導(dǎo)致船員們粗心大意,可能會(huì)污染到食物;
      2.中毒引起的癥狀和普通疾病相似,報(bào)告上無(wú)法準(zhǔn)確判定;
      3.船員有自己的飲水系統(tǒng),被污染的水是用于機(jī)器的。
      新托福寫(xiě)作題目回憶版本二:
      [重復(fù)2015-12-05真題]
      閱讀主要觀點(diǎn)提取
      總論點(diǎn):研究表明高濃度的鉛導(dǎo)致了遠(yuǎn)征北極的海軍中毒而死亡。一些人認(rèn)為是他們食用了含鉛的罐裝食品。然而,作者對(duì)著一觀點(diǎn)進(jìn)行了反駁。
      理由一:并沒(méi)有大量的鉛進(jìn)入到食物中。在19世紀(jì),人們用融化的鉛來(lái)密封食品罐。人們是從罐的外部來(lái)密封蓋子的,所以,鉛接觸罐內(nèi)食物的可能性是非常小的。
      理由二:沒(méi)有出現(xiàn)其他同樣的案例。許多其他的英國(guó)船隊(duì)也使用鉛來(lái)密封罐裝食品。但是,他們都沒(méi)有鉛中毒的情況。
      理由三:可能是水手們和了含鉛的水。富蘭克林的船只都有一套特殊的凈水系統(tǒng),來(lái)過(guò)濾出可以喝的淡水。然而,凈水系統(tǒng)的水管是用鉛制成的。
      聽(tīng)力主要觀點(diǎn)提取
      總論點(diǎn):探險(xiǎn)隊(duì)員鉛中毒的源頭就是罐裝食品。
      解釋一:成產(chǎn)罐裝食品的工人們以一種非常草率的方式來(lái)密封蓋子。事實(shí)上,工人們并沒(méi)有足夠的時(shí)間去生產(chǎn)罐裝食品。因?yàn)闀r(shí)間緊急的原因,工人們?cè)诿芊獾臅r(shí)候并不是非常細(xì)心,導(dǎo)致了鉛本沒(méi)有在蓋子的外面,而是流進(jìn)了罐內(nèi)的食物里。
      解釋二:之所以沒(méi)有任何關(guān)于其他英國(guó)船隊(duì)鉛中毒的報(bào)道,是因?yàn)樗麄儧](méi)有檢查自己是否鉛中毒。沒(méi)有經(jīng)過(guò)專(zhuān)業(yè)的檢查,鉛中毒是很難被發(fā)現(xiàn)的。輕度鉛中毒的癥狀包含疲勞和頭疼,但這兩點(diǎn)是很常見(jiàn)的,所以很多人會(huì)忽視這些癥狀。
      解釋三:用凈水系統(tǒng)凈化出來(lái)的淡水是供引擎使用的,而不是給水手們飲用的。船上的引擎是蒸汽引擎,因此必須要使用淡水。同時(shí),在船上,他們有另外的飲用水供應(yīng)。
      新托福寫(xiě)作題目回憶版本三:
      INTEGRATED 綜合寫(xiě)作
      船員中毒的幾個(gè)解釋
      閱讀文章觀點(diǎn):
      1. 不太可能是罐頭內(nèi)的食物被污染,因?yàn)橹粫?huì)污染罐頭外部
      2. 沒(méi)有報(bào)道說(shuō)其他地方的船員也中毒
      3. 可能的解釋是飲用水被污染
      聽(tīng)力反駁:
      1. Time pressures使得workers careless,所以還是有可能的
      2. 沒(méi)有報(bào)道并不能說(shuō)明沒(méi)有發(fā)生,可能是中毒癥狀太common,難以detect
      3. 水是用于機(jī)器的,船員不喝,他們有自己的飲水系統(tǒng)
      新托福寫(xiě)作題目回憶版本四:
      閱讀:whether the canned food is the factor that contributes to the lead poisoning and the death of crew in Ka a ship.
      The lead that was carefully stilled to the can would not contact the food.
      No other evidence of death of the crew was found in other ship.
      Water purification system may be the source of poisoning.
      聽(tīng)力:
      Company has limited time to finish this work. Workers are under time pressure and it is reasonable that they are careless and apply lead to the cans in a hurry way.
      Sailors may be affected but they are not reported. First, it is difficult to judge whether sailors are affected by lead without careful tests. Second, the symptoms of lead poisoning are common, such as feeling tired or headache and they can be easily overlooked.
      The water in the purification system is used for ship engineering since the salt water cannot be used. The water for cooking and drinking comes from a different way.
      新托福綜合寫(xiě)作范文:
      The reading states that the lead in canned food cause the crew poisoning. On the contrary, the professor thinks that the arguments in reading aren’t convincing.
      Firstly, the author mentions that lead didn’t get into food because melted lead was carefully applied to cans from the outside to seal the lids in place. However, the speaker says that the cans on ships show the melted lead didn't stay on the outside as it was supposed to. In fact, the workers in food company didn’t have enough time to seal the lids carefully. So, the melted lead ran down the inside of the cans, contaminating the food.
      Additionally, the writer demonstrates that there are no other cases about lead poisoning reported. As a matter of fact, the speaker indicates that sailors on the other ships didn’t test for lead poisoning but lead poisoning is difficult to detect without specific tests. The reason is symptoms of mild lead poisoning include tiredness and headaches, which are very common. Therefore, other sailors might overlook the signs and couldn’t recognize the problems.
      Finally, the speaker contradicts the idea in reading by suggesting that the main purpose of the water purification systems was to provide freshwater for the ships engines instead of drinking or cooking. It is because those engines were steam engines and they must use freshwater. Moreover, there are separate supplies of freshwater on board for drinking and cooking.
