Reading: Three theories about the original functions of protowings:
1.像降落傘(parachute)一樣，在falling down 的過(guò)程中降低速度，lecture第一點(diǎn)說(shuō)蟲(chóng)子真正緩沖的是hair和bristle~說(shuō)有很多h和b~但是這個(gè)翅膀卻只有一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)~所以肯定沒(méi)什么用
具體是說(shuō)protowings生長(zhǎng)位置比較局限，而不像insects體表的hair(纖毛)和bristle(剛毛)——后面一個(gè)我當(dāng)時(shí)沒(méi)有反應(yīng)過(guò)來(lái)，后來(lái)回想才想起來(lái)，后悔啊——那樣分布比較廣;此外后者在作為飛行緩沖的體表器官比只張兩只的protowings更effective。
2.幫助生活在水中的幼蟲(chóng)呼吸， 很多生活在水中的modern insects并不是靠gill呼吸的，所以即便是protowings是作為gill用的也不能說(shuō)明他們的普適性(托福機(jī)經(jīng)閱讀材料是因?yàn)楝F(xiàn)在有些 larvae(幼蟲(chóng))在水中靠gill呼吸來(lái)推斷的，所以對(duì)于那些不是靠gill呼吸的insect他們有自己的特殊呼吸器官，但是還是長(zhǎng)著 protowings，那么就不對(duì)了);其次，modern insects的larvae生活在水中，但是長(zhǎng)著protowings的ancient insects很多都不是生活在水中的，所以以此作為推斷很荒謬。
3.ornamental structures, 用于吸引異性。

2.ancient larvae生活在陸地上，而不是水中
3.一般的ornamental structures只有雄性有，比如孔雀的屏和獅子脖子上的鬃毛，而這個(gè)protowings是雌雄都有，所以不符合。
