Plants and animal species have long been negatively affected as a consequence of human activities. Some people feel at a loss in improving this situation. However, I am a little queasy about this statement as there are still something that can help ease the problem.
Such is human nature that people would sacrifice environment for the benefits of their own development. People chop down trees for energy supply, which has caused soil erosion and pose threats to plants growth. Also, large scale of farmlands or lakes are disappearing at an alarming rate for housing development. Humans are considered to be the culprit of diminishing habitats for species survival. So, in the view of those opponents, any attempt to reverse this situation seems to be in vain.
While, the optimistic viewers think some effective measures can be taken to prevent further negative effects. The authorities could launch environment-related laws and regulations to control the situation. And some educational campaigns, like TV programs or public advertisements, are supposed to be held to refrain people from ‘slaughtering’ those valuable species without end.
Personally, I think for those died-out animals and species which would cost much effort and money for restoring their genes, less attempt should be applied. We can save these efforts to improve related laws and policies, which could offset the loss humans have caused. some non-governmental organizations could also be set to send out the voice of protecting animals and plants to more people. In a word, there are still some measures we can take before it is too late.
