I am pleased to write this letter for my former student Miss Nan Li， who graduated from this College with an L.B. degree in June Li was admitted to the Department of Law of this College in 1974 through highly competitive entrance examination which is conducted annually and is open to the whole nation. Even in such a selective group. Miss Li made herself distinguished.
As professor and dean of the College， I have access to her records of academic work and moral conduct， In her fourth year study， I instructed her in Anglo-American Laws on Trespass. So I have known her quite well. Miss Li＇s performance， like that in many other courses she taken， was excellent with a superior grade of 86 for the first semester， and 84 for the second semester. In our university and in other university here， 80 is considered ＂A＂ ， the highest level. As far as I know， Miss Li wishes to continue her study in Law for an advanced degree. I am sure she has had sufficient prerequisite knowledge for the subject and certainly has the ability to undertake the study. 1、擇定推薦人選
在請(qǐng)主管、老師等撰寫推薦信前，都會(huì)有請(qǐng)“名人推薦”的想法，而所謂的名人，不僅是能耳熟能詳?shù)恼?jīng)界、學(xué)術(shù)界上的大名，若在其領(lǐng)域很活躍者，也是重點(diǎn)人物哦！找推薦者前，可以考慮以下幾點(diǎn)：

推薦信每個(gè)學(xué)校，約需2-3封。（若畢業(yè)多年，著重公司主管推薦信；若剛于學(xué)校畢業(yè)，則以學(xué)校教授推薦信為主）

推薦信內(nèi)容字?jǐn)?shù)大約從250至300字之間，故如果在短短行字之間交待重點(diǎn)及方向；且也利于提供給推薦人相關(guān)的料。推薦者的全名與申請(qǐng)人的基本情況介紹。
交待推薦人與申請(qǐng)者的關(guān)系（認(rèn)識(shí)期間、認(rèn)識(shí)程度、關(guān)系）對(duì)申請(qǐng)者的基本評(píng)價(jià)（如：專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)、個(gè)性、品性、特點(diǎn)、工作態(tài)度、前途估計(jì)和實(shí)例）（也可適時(shí)提出較無(wú)傷大雅的缺點(diǎn)）（品性部分于之前履歷所提出Interest是相呼應(yīng)的；因國(guó)外學(xué)校在乎學(xué)生是否身心健全、品格兼顧）（學(xué)校老師著重學(xué)業(yè)潛能；公司主管則強(qiáng)調(diào)實(shí)務(wù)應(yīng)變能力）。
推薦人介紹申請(qǐng)人曾獲得獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)、發(fā)表的論文、參加過(guò)重要學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議，以及曾在學(xué)生組織或?qū)W術(shù)團(tuán)中的任職來(lái)支持自己的評(píng)價(jià)。
推薦人必須清楚地表明被推薦人留學(xué)的身分是研究生還是訪問(wèn)學(xué)者，專業(yè)領(lǐng)試域及研究方向。
3、準(zhǔn)備二份英國(guó)留學(xué)推薦信
教授、名人、主管，通常十分忙碌，英文也不一定流利，故有時(shí)推薦人可能會(huì)要求申請(qǐng)人先擬好草稿，再來(lái)修改、簽名。在擬草稿或是正常文件時(shí)，注意如下：
推薦信要客觀、公正、切忌流于形式，內(nèi)容空洞。
要與申請(qǐng)人的其它材料（如成績(jī)單）等相符。
應(yīng)注意格式、文法等，內(nèi)容力求精簡(jiǎn)有力。
推薦信的格式與一般書信基本相同。有信頭，發(fā)信日期，收信人姓名，稱呼，正文，信尾謙稱，簽名，推薦人姓名，職稱及工作單位等部分。
注意學(xué)校是否有提供現(xiàn)成的推薦表格，是否利用問(wèn)答的方式，直接讓推薦者作敘述和評(píng)價(jià)。
