我們在申請出國留學時遇到TOEFL/IELTSWaiver Policy，即語言考試豁免政策。一般情況下，對國際生來說，合格的語言成績是每個申請者都必須要提供的材料，下面出國留學網(wǎng)就來說說出國留學語言考試豁免政策。
但如果你符合以下幾種情況，那么你就有可能向?qū)W校申請免語言要求。
1.母語是英語
如果申請者是英語國家的公民或者永久性居民，語言考試要求一般可以免除。英語國家一般是指英語是官方語言的國家，一般包括英國，美國，愛爾蘭，澳大利亞，新西蘭，加拿大(魁北克省除外)等。需要注意一下，香港，新加坡，菲律賓雖然官方語言中有英文，但來自這些國家或地區(qū)的申請者一般是無法免除語言要求的。
英國內(nèi)政部規(guī)定的Majoritynative-English speaking countries名單如下：

2. 本科階段是在英語國家就讀并最終獲得了學士學位
申請者如果是在英語國家完成并獲得bachelordegree，那么可以不用提供語言考試成績。如果本科是在非英語國家完成，碩士是在英語國家完成，這種情況一般是可以免除語言要求的，但需要和學校確定是否可以免除語言要求。密歇根州立大學安娜堡分校關于這點的要求如下：
If youcompleted a Master’s degree that was strictly research and no academic classes,that degree does not meet the exemption. This type of Master’s degree isgenerally awarded at a non-U.S. institution.
3.中外合作辦學項目獲得國外學位證書
國內(nèi)有很多中外辦學的學?；?qū)W院，例如寧波諾丁漢大學，西交利物浦大學，北京郵電大學國際學院，電子科技大學格拉斯哥學院等，就讀于這些學?；?qū)W院的學生在畢業(yè)的時候會獲得兩個學位證書，這些學生申請的時候能否免語言需要看申請學校的要求。一般來說，很多學校會有一些限制條件，比如UCL要求申請者在入學前的兩年內(nèi)，在英語國家完成了至少1年的學業(yè)，學生提供相應的成績單，這種情況是符合免除語言要求的條件的。
Completed aminimum of twelve months education in a country that UCL considers to be'majority English speaking', no more than the summer two years prior to theproposed date of enrolment.
也有學校會要求在英語國家完成了至少2年的學業(yè)才可以申請免語言。比如UIUC就是這樣要求的：
Completion ofat least two years of post-secondary full-time study, as defined by the homeinstitution, in a country where English is the primary language and at aninstitution where English is the primary medium of instruction, within fiveyears of the proposed term of initial enrollment at the University of Illinoisat Urbana-Champaign.
如果學生本科都是在國內(nèi)讀的，最后拿到了中外兩個學位證書，這種情況一般是不可以免除語言要求的，但具體還需要和申請學校進一步確定。
4.在英語國家有2年以上的專業(yè)相關工作經(jīng)驗
有一些學校會對在英語國家有2年以上工作經(jīng)驗的申請者提供語言豁免，但需要提供相關證明，比如公司領導出的推薦信或者公司出的證明文件。比如UIUC的要求如下：
Completion ofat least two years of professional work experience in a country where Englishis the primary language within five years of the proposed term of initialenrollment at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
符合以上要求的學生，在申請的時候可以和學校核對一下是否符合免語言的要求。也有學校對語言要求非常嚴格，比如Duke University,就要求如果母語不是英文，就必須提供標準化考試的成績。
If your firstlanguage is not English, you must submit scores from the Test of English as aForeign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System(IELTS) test.
