The International Amigo Scholarship entitles qualifying international students to a non-resident tuition waiver (value of more than $14,000 per year) provided a student meets renewal requirements.
Eligibility
Undergraduates must have:
Freshman applicants: The equivalent of a U.S. 3.5 upper secondary school (high school) college preparatory course work grade point average (GPA) as determined by UNM or 26 ACT (1240 SAT) and 3.0 college preparatory course work grade point average GPA. Transfer applicants: A 3.25 college transfer GPA (for a student who has completed the equivalent of 30 college credit hours) as determined by UNM
Admission to a full-time UNM degree program by the deadline
Non-immigrant visa status (F1 or J1) status
No previous attendance in the current UNM program
The Scholarship may be renewed annually for up to four years for freshman applicants and two years for transfer applicants provided the student maintains enrollment in 15 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA each semester. A student who fails to meet the requirements loses the scholarship.
Deadline and Selection
The Fall semester priority deadline is February 15. Applicants are encouraged to have all required application materials submitted at this time.
Academically eligible applicants who have met the GPA or SAT/ACT and GPA threshold will be instructed to compose an essay on a subject of the committee's choosing. New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship
The New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship encourages New Mexico high school graduates and New Mexico General Education Diploma (GED) recipients to enroll full time and complete a 2 year degree within 4 semesters or a 4 year degree within 8 semesters. It provides financial support by paying a portion of the cost of tuition at any New Mexico public post-secondary institution. This scholarship is not awarded on the basis of financial need. While we strongly encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students are NOT required to complete a FAFSA to receive the New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements: New Mexico residents who have established residency and attended a public New Mexico secondary educational institution for at least one year, regardless of immigration status, and meet all below listed criteria are eligible.
Graduate from a New Mexico public or accredited private high school, or received a New Mexico GED
Enroll full-time (fifteen credit hours at the UNM Main Campus) in a public New Mexico college or university in a degree or certificate program the first regular term following high school graduation or receipt of a GED
Beginning Fall 2014, complete at least fifteen credit hours with a semester GPA of 2.5 or better in the first term of college, the Qualifying Semester.
If ALL the above requirements are NOT met a student is NOT eligible to receive the New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship. Only exceptional mitigating circumstances that are beyond the student's control and precluded the student from meeting the requirements during their Qualifying Semester can be considered and will require the submission of a Scholarship Petition with supporting documentation.
The Legislative Lottery Scholarship will be awarded for the second semester of attendance to students who have met all the eligibility requirements during their Qualifying Semester. The scholarship pays up to $2,465.08 of tuition per semester for the 2016/2017 academic year – it does NOT cover mandatory student fees or course fees. It is not awarded in summer except for accelerated programs, such as Nursing.

(Legacy students -- students who have received the Lottery Scholarship for 3 or more semesters by the end of spring 2014 -- will remain eligible to receive the scholarship by completing 12 NEW credit hours with a 2.5 cumulative GPA.) The grade of CR counts towards total credit hours completed but does not affect GPA. Grades of F, NC, I, W, WP, WF and Audit and repeated classes do NOT count towards total credit hours completed but may negatively impact GPA. A repeated course is a course that is being taken again after previously receiving a passing grade of D- or better or CR.
Duration of Eligibility: The Legislative Lottery Scholarship may be awarded up to 7 consecutive semesters at UNM or receipt of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. (Legacy students may be awarded up to 8 consecutive semesters.) Nomination Process
ALL GRADUATE students will be considered for the scholarship upon admission to a UNM graduate program AND nomination by the graduate department. Scholarships will be awarded with a Nomination Priority Deadline of March 15th for the Fall admission semester in a departmentally representative fashion. Once this date passes, scholarships will be awarded with no department receiving more than 10 total Amigo offers. Scholarships are limited in number.
Individual academic departments will nominate applicants as part of the departmental admission process and inform the Office of International Admissions via the International Admission decision form submitted through the OnBase workflow. The Office of International Admissions will screen the nominations for eligibility (international student, admitted).
The Office of International Admissions will send a time-sensitive email notifying the applicant of the awarding of this scholarship and, if applicable, the need for any other needed financial documentation. The awardee will have a specified deadline in which to accept the award and admission. Students will also be informed that this is a non-binding acceptance should he/she ultimately decide not to attend UNM. If and when an awardee accepts an assistantship or any other award that covers the non-resident portion of tuition, graduate units must notify the Office of International Admissions.
Renewal Eligibility
The Scholarship may be renewed annually for up to two years for Master's students and four years for PHD students provided the student maintains enrollment in 9 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A student who fails to meet the requirements will lose the scholarship.

阿米戈獎學(xué)金每年可續(xù)更，其中碩士生可續(xù)更兩年，博士生可續(xù)更四年，前提是學(xué)生在秋季學(xué)期和春季學(xué)期保持注冊九個學(xué)分，平均績點不低于3.0。未能滿足這些要求的學(xué)生將喪失獎學(xué)金。
2.Graduate Assistantship Scholarship
An assistantship is a type of financial and work opportunity available to graduate students. There are 4 types of assistantships at UNM: Teaching, Research, Graduate and Project assistantships. Assistantships pay an hourly or monthly stipend or wage to the student. Students receiving assistantships may teach, help grade class assignments, do research or do other academic work. If you hold an assistantship for more than half of the semester the award also covers health insurance and if the assistantship is at least 10 hours per week, it entitles the student to pay in-state tuition. Some assistantships also pay all or some of the tuition and fees for the student.
Most assistantships are offered by a student's own academic department (check with your department first.) However, a student can look for an assistantship in another department if he/she qualifies.
2.研究生助理獎學(xué)金
