Applications must be sent in Japan by express and delivery-recorded mail to the Admissions Center, Chuo University.
Applications from certain countries are acceptable and must be sent as "Registered Post by Air Mail."

Qualifications and Conditions
[1] Applicants for admission through a special entrance examination for international students must have a foreign nationality and fulfill either of the following conditions:
1. Applicants must have completed 12 years of school education in countries other than Japan. Those who have resided in Japan for 3 years or longer in total during the period of their junior and senior high school education are not eligible to take the special entrance examination for international students.

Selection
Faculties of Law, Economics (Type-A application), Commerce (Type-A application), Science and Engineering, Letters, and Policy Studies:
Admission is determined on the basis of a written examination and an interview. Subjects of the written examination are both in Japanese and in English.
Faculties of Economics (Type-B application) Commerce (Type-B application):
Admission is determined on the basis of the results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), as well as the submitted documents. There is no written examination or interview.

Applicants residing abroad at the time of application must have a proxy in Japan who will submit application documents by post on behalf of the applicant.

Qualifications and Conditions
Applicants for admission through a special entrance examination for international students must have a foreign nationality and fulfill either of the following conditions as of April 1, 2017.

Master's Program
1. Applicants must have graduated from a four-year university, with a Bachelor's degree in Japan.
2. Applicants must have completed 16 years of school education with a Bachelor's degree in countries other than Japan.
3. Applicants must be recognized by the Graduate School concerned as having academic ability equivalent to those who have graduated from a four-year university, and must be aged at least 22 years old.

碩士課程
1.申請(qǐng)人必須已經(jīng)從四年制的大學(xué)畢業(yè)，并且在日本持有學(xué)士學(xué)位。

Certificate of Japanese Proficiency: Applicants are required to submit an original Certificate of Proficiency, including a test score for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test given by the Japan Education Exchanges and Services or “Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students” given by the Japan Student Services Organization; however, those students applying for Doctor Courses in the following faculties are exempted: Economics; Science and Engineering; Letters; and Policy Studies. Please be aware that score criteria are different for each graduate school as below. For applicants that have graduated from or completed other universities or graduate schools in Japan (including those who are expected to graduate or complete), the proficiency test score is optional.
日語語言能力證書：申請(qǐng)人需要提交證書原件，包括日語語言能力考試成績(jī)(由日本教育交流與服務(wù)提供)或日本大學(xué)國(guó)際學(xué)生入學(xué)考試成績(jī)(由日本學(xué)生服務(wù)機(jī)構(gòu)提供)。但是，申請(qǐng)博士課程與以下學(xué)院的學(xué)生不用提交：經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院、科學(xué)與工程學(xué)院、文學(xué)院、政策研究學(xué)院。請(qǐng)注意，每個(gè)研究生院的成績(jī)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)不同。對(duì)于從日本其他大學(xué)(或研究生院)畢業(yè)或完成學(xué)業(yè)的學(xué)生，能力考試成績(jī)可以選擇性提交。
For Master and Doctor programs in Law,and Commerce, and Master programs in Economics, Science and Engineering,and Policy Studies, applicants are required to have a proficiency equivalent of at least Level 2 or N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or a total score of 200 or above on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students.
For Doctor programs in Economics, Science and Engineering, Letters and Policy Studies submission of a score is optional. The Master program in the Faculty of Letters does not have a score standard.
對(duì)于法學(xué)、商業(yè)的碩博士課程和經(jīng)濟(jì)、科學(xué)與工程、政策研究的碩士課程，申請(qǐng)人需要具備Level 2 或 N2級(jí)日語語言能力，或者日本大學(xué)國(guó)際學(xué)生入學(xué)考試成績(jī)總分在200分以上。
對(duì)于經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、科學(xué)與工程、政策研究的博士課程，成績(jī)可以選擇性提交。對(duì)于文學(xué)院碩士課程，沒有分?jǐn)?shù)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

Selection
Admission is determined on the basis of the submitted thesis, a written examination and an interview. Subjects included in the written examination vary with each degree course. For details, please refer to the Japanese website.

Chuo University takes an active part in a wide range of programs encouraging the exchange of students and researchers with education and research institutions in other countries. It presently has partnership agreements with over 110 institutions. The International Center, established in 1981 to promote international exchange, supports and funds international exchange activities carried out by faculties, graduate schools, and research institutes.

(2) Courses
Please note that most of the courses are taught in Japanese at Chuo University. Even though, tehre are at present no specific requirements for Japanese language proficiency for non-dgree students. Also, we offer some courses taught in English and other foreign language are offered at the Faculty of Law, Letters and Policy Studies. (Please be reminded that the Faculty of Science and Engineering don't have courses offered in English, students who wish to study at the Facuty of Science and Engineering is required to have at leaset JLPT N3 level.)

Chuo University has been offering summer program for students interested in Japanese language and culture since 2002. At this moment, we are remodeling the program and we are NOT going to offer the Chuo Summer program in 2016. We hope we can offer wonderful program in 2017.

自從2002年以來，中央大學(xué)一直為對(duì)日語語言和文化感興趣的學(xué)生提供夏季課程?，F(xiàn)在，學(xué)校對(duì)課程進(jìn)行了重組，不準(zhǔn)備在2016年提供夏季課程。學(xué)校希望可以在2017年提供更好的課程。

Global LEAP Program
In 2017 Chuo University will begin its Global LEAP Program in cooperation with Chuo’s domestic and overseas partner universities as part of the “Global Initiatives” established under the “Chuo Vision 2025”, a ten-year development plan of Chuo University. This interdisciplinary educational program aims to foster students equipped with the abilities needed to play an active role in the globalizing Asian region, a strategic focus of Chuo University, in order to enhance students’ international career opportunities. The Global LEAP Program is a cooperative, active learning program through which, in the first semester, students can learn about Asia’s common challenges while studying Environment and Social Sustainability in the Global Lecture Series. In addition, during the second semester, LEAP offers internship opportunities at local companies and NGOs, while students are enrolled in one of Chuo’s eight partner universities in five different Asian countries .
