Broad-Based Fees
Broad-Based fees include but are not limited to the Intercollegiate Athletics Fee, Student Recreation Fee, the University Fee, the Comprehensive Service Fee offering Transportation, Technology and Health Services, and the Academic Excellence and Success Fee. These fees are mandatory to all enrolled students.
Intercollegiate Athletics Fee
$286.00 for 12 or more credits, $214.50 for 9-11 credits, $143.00 for 6-8 credits. Funds the intercollegiate sports programs including team transportation, uniforms, etc. This fee is mandatory for undergraduate students taking 6 or more credits except for those students in our Overseas Academic Programs.
Recreation and Campus Life Fee
$101.00 for 12 or more credits, $75.75 for 9-11 credits, $50.50 for 6-8 credits. This fee is comprised of two components. The Recreation portion of this fee provides access to a range of programs to meet student recreational needs, including intramurals, aquatics, club sport support (in conjunction with the Student Association), open recreation, and access to fitness facilities as well as equipment rental. The Campus Life component provides funding for outside the classroom programs and events that will enhance academic and personal success and positively impact student satisfaction with the overall University at Albany experience. This fee is mandatory for undergraduate students taking 6 or more credits except for those in our Overseas Academic Programs.
Comprehensive Service Fee
$640.00 for 12 or more credits (per credit, $53.33 if under 12 credits). This fee is mandatory for all students except students in our Overseas Academic Programs and in the Washington Semester program.
Graduate Student Employee Union Comprehensive Service Fee
$499.00 for 12 or more credits (per credit, $41.58 if under 12 credits). The GSEU status is provided by the Office of Human Resources Management. Graduate students who are represented by the GSEU are charged at the GSEU Comprehensive Service Fee Rate.
University Fee
$62.50 for 12 or more credits ($5.21 per credit); provides supplemental support for the academic mission of the University. Mandatory for all students.
Course Fees
Students that register for any one of the courses will also be billed for the corresponding course fee on their Tuition Invoice. Proposed course fees will be used solely to support the additional costs for materials, supplies and special services related to the course.

Student Activity Fee
$100.00 for 12 or more credits, $75.00 for 9-11 credits, $50.00 for 6-8 credits. Funds the groups, programs, and activities of the Student Association. This fee is mandatory for undergraduate students taking 6 or more credits except for those students in our Overseas Academic Programs.
Student-Alumni Partnership
$20 for all students taking six or more credits. The Student-Alumni Partnership allows students to tap into a network of more than 145,000 alumni, take advantage of the numerous programs designed to help students gain business, professional and leadership skills. From networking and spirit events to scholarship opportunities, the Partnership is designed to help students make the most of their UAlbany experience. If you do not wish to support the Partnership, you may opt out or request a refund by completing the Student-Alumni Partnership Opt-Out Request
Graduate Student Organization Fee
$22.00. Supports the programs, activities, and services of the Graduate Student Organization. The fee is mandatory for graduate students except for those students in our Overseas Academic Programs.
International Health Insurance
$502.50 for the Fall 2016 term (8/15/2016 - 1/14/2017) and $703.50 for the Spring and Summer terms (1/15/2017 - 8/14/2017). Comprehensive coverage for medical expenses, generally incurred off-campus, arising from covered accidents and sicknesses. There is a deductible that may be waived in some circumstances. The insurance is mandatory for international students and scholars, F-1 and J-1 visas, and for students studying abroad.

$40.00 for the Fall 2016 term (8/15/2016 - 1/14/2017) and $56.00 for the Spring and Summer terms (1/15/2017 - 8/14/2017). Includes medical evacuation and repatriation benefits. This fee is mandatory for international students and scholars, F-1 and J-1 visas, and for students studying abroad.
SEVIS Fee
The cost for the SEVIS Fee is of $100.00 Per Semester. The mandatory semester SEVIS fee for all International students who are F and J visa holders. This fee supports compliance with federal mandates for reporting and tracking International students and scholars and is non-refundable for course withdrawals bearing an official drop/withdrawal date of the first day of the semester or later. (NOTE: The University's SEVIS Fee should not be confused with the $200 SEVIS Fee paid by visa applicants.) Questions about this fee should be referred to The International Student and Scholar Services Office.
Summer Service Fee
$49.00: Supports most services available at the University Health Center and the maintenance and development of technology and electronic resources on campus. Mandatory for all students.

Health Center Charges
Health Center Charges appear on your E-Bill along with tuition and fees. No paper bills will be sent. These charges include some in-house laboratory testing, medical equipment, immunizations, oral and other contraceptives, nasal steroids and anti-histamines, for medications dispensed above the maximum allotment each fall and spring semester, and for all medications dispensed during the summer semester. You may authorize the University to pay your Health Center Charges with your Federal Financial Aid.*
Library Charges
