Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) Centennial Prize
OVERVIEW
To commemorate 100 years of federal conciliation and arbitration, members of the AIRC established a trust to fund the AIRC Centennial Prize – an annual award offered to students at The University of Melbourne.
In 1904 the Commonwealth Parliament established the Commonwealth Conciliation and Arbitration Court. While it has changed its name, and its functions have evolved, this institution has remained central to regulating work and labour standards in Australia. Today, the role of the AIRC has continued through the Fair Work Commission.

The winner of the AIRC Centennial Prize will receive $1000 and a commemorative certificate of the award.
ELIGIBILITY
The prize is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have undertaken study in the Faculty of Business and Economics or the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne.
This may be in the form of a degree or specialisation offered by these two Faculties, or study in an individual subject.
The thesis or essay must have been submitted or be ready for submission (for the enrolled course of study) by the application deadline.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Students must apply online, including a signed application form and submit 3 hard copies of their research work.
SELECTION PROCESS
To be considered for the AIRC Centennial prize, the research work (thesis or essay) must be in the area of Industrial Relations or Labour History. These areas are interpreted broadly to include essays or a thesis in any of the following areas:
· Industrial relations, employment relations, workplace relations.
· Human resource management, personnel administration, careers, and organizational behaviour.
· Labour economics and labour market analysis.
· Labour law, labour market regulation, including aspects of public policy related to work, social protection and labour market policies, and labour market institutions.
· Labour history, and the history of work, employment practices, labour markets and labour market institutions.
There is no set word length for submissions – and submissions are encouraged from both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The selection of the best research work submitted in the year will be based on the quality of the essay or thesis and its relevance to contemporary policy concerns and debates.
The prize will be awarded by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Business and Economics, upon recommendation of the Deans (or nominees), after consultation with a representative from the President of the Fair Work Commission.

Bachelor of Commerce Global Scholarship
OVERVIEW
The Faculty of Business and Economics has established a number of scholarships for international students enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce.
BENEFITS
A 20% fee remission scholarship for the duration of the course.
ELIGIBILITY
This scholarship is for international students only. Students must have completed an approved Year 12 program or equivalent that meets the eligibility requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce. This will include a range of programs such as Foundation, Australian Year 12, IB, Indian Year 12, and A Levels. Students must:
· Achieve a minimum ATAR of 90 (or equivalent) and fulfil subject prerequisites for the Bachelor of Commerce. Scores that are slightly below targets published in our entry requirements page may be considered.
· Be a citizen from a country deemed to be under-represented in the Bachelor of Commerce.
· Be made an unconditional offer for the Bachelor of Commerce
· Accept a place in the Bachelor of Commerce in the year it is offered.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered. There is no separate application process.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection is made based on academic merit (i.e. the results you achieved in your most recent year/s of study) and country of citizenship.

Bennelong Foundation Scholarship and Internship
OVERVIEW
The Bennelong Foundation was established by the Bangarra Group (formerly Bennelong Group), a funds management and private equity business, with the aim of contributing to positive change in the community. The scholarship is open to full-time first year Access Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce students with a strong interest in Finance who are experiencing financial or social hardship.
The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum for the recipient's second and third years of study.
BENEFITS
· $10,000 per annum for the recipient's second and third year of study.
· The scholarship will be awarded for the second and third years of study as part of the normal duration of an undergraduate commerce degree.
· The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the Bennelong聽Foundation internship program for the duration of the degree.
ELIGIBILITY
· Full-time first year Access Melbourne Bachelor of Commerce students with a strong interest in Finance

This Scholarship may not be awarded to an applicant who is currently in receipt of another industry sponsored scholarship, a University scholarship or a Faculty scholarship.

Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships
OVERVIEW
The Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships are available to international students commencing the Bachelor of Commerce.
BENEFITS
50% fee remission for the duration of the course.
ELIGIBILITY
All international students who apply to the Bachelor of Commerce program.
APPLICATION PROCESS
No applications are necessary. Course applicants are considered automatically based on their academic results.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection is made based on academic merit (i.e. the results you achieved in your most recent year/s of study).
OUTCOME OF APPLICATION
· Recipients聽will be contacted by mid December (round 1 offers) and February (round 2 offers)
· Those not receiving a scholarship聽will not be contacted.
DEFERRING
No deferral is allowed.
