Tuition
As a rule, tuition is to be paid in two installments; in April and in October. The first semester tuition is paid in April, while the second semester tuition is paid in October.
A bank transfer application will be sent to the address of the person acting as the student’s guarantor around the middle of April and the middle of April and October. Payments should be made by bank transfer into the account designated by the University.
A request can be made to pay the second semester tuition at the same time that payment is made for the first semester.
Should tuition fees be revised during a student’s period of enrollment, the new amount will become effective from that point on.
Matriculation Fee
The Matriculation fee should be paid at the time of registration.
Entrance Examination Fee
The Entrance examination fee should be paid at the time an application for admission is submitted.

從原則上來(lái)看，京都大學(xué)的學(xué)費(fèi)于4月、10月分2次繳納。上學(xué)期費(fèi)用請(qǐng)?jiān)?月內(nèi)繳納，下學(xué)期費(fèi)用請(qǐng)?jiān)?0月內(nèi)繳納。

Applications to be accepted for tuition exemption for the first semester of academic year 2017-2018
Kyoto University will accept applications for tuition exemption for the first semester of academic year 2017-2018 as outlined below.
1.How to apply
The application process consists of the following steps:
Step 1) Registration on the Exemption Online Application System (EOAS) *
Step 2) Data submission (family details) via EOAS *
Step 3) Application (submission of documents)
* EOAS can be accessed via Kyoto University Liberal Arts Syllabus Information System (KULASIS).
This process also applies to students expecting to enroll in a master's or doctoral program in academic year 2017-2018. (Applications will remain valid after the student has entered one of those programs.)

3.Eligibility
Eligible applicants are regular undergraduate and graduate students who:
1)have excellent academic records who find it difficult to pay tuition fees due to economic reason(s).
2)find it difficult to pay tuition fees because their Academic Expense Supporter has passed away, or the students themselves or Academic Expense Supporter have suffered major damage from wind, flood, or other disasters within six months prior to the payment due date.
3)have circumstance(s) that are deemed by the President of the University to be equivalent to those mentioned in 2).
Notes:
- Students who have received disciplinary action within six months prior to the start of the semester or at the time of the application are ineligible. If a student receives disciplinary action after applying, that student's application will be invalidated.
4.Application results
Application results will be made available on EOAS in late July. Each applicant is responsible for checking their own results via EOAS.

京都大學(xué)將會(huì)按照下面的信息說(shuō)明，接受2017-2018學(xué)年第一個(gè)學(xué)期學(xué)費(fèi)豁免申請(qǐng)。
(1)如何申請(qǐng)
學(xué)費(fèi)豁免申請(qǐng)包括以下步驟：

Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee because the individual who is chiefly responsible for their academic expenses ("Academic Expense Supporter") has passed away, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have suffered major damage from wind, flood, or other disasters within twelve (12) months prior to admission.
Students deemed by the President of the University to be facing circumstances that are equivalent to those mentioned in 2.
2. Undergraduate students
Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee because their Academic Expense Supporter has passed away, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have suffered major damage from wind, flood, or other disasters, within twelve (12) months prior to admission.
Students deemed by the President of the University to be facing circumstances that are equivalent to those mentioned in 1.
Admission fee deferment
Regular undergraduate and graduate students who meet any of the following criteria are eligible to apply.
Those who receive disciplinary action will be immediately disqualified.
Both undergraduate and graduate students
Students with excellent academic records who find it difficult to pay the admission fee due to economic reason(s).
Students who find it extremely difficult to pay the admission fee because their Academic Expense Supporter has passed away, or the students themselves or their Academic Expense Supporter have suffered major damage from wind, flood, or other disasters within twelve (12) months prior to their admission.
Students who find it difficult to pay the admission fee by the due date because of unavoidable circumstances.
2、入學(xué)費(fèi)用豁免/延遲支付
(1)申請(qǐng)資格-入學(xué)費(fèi)用豁免
滿足以下條件的常規(guī)本科學(xué)生和研究生學(xué)生具備申請(qǐng)入學(xué)費(fèi)用豁免(全部費(fèi)用或者一半費(fèi)用)的資格：
受到紀(jì)律處分的學(xué)生將會(huì)被立刻取消獲得資格。
A、研究生學(xué)生
- 學(xué)術(shù)成績(jī)優(yōu)秀，但是因?yàn)槟承┙?jīng)濟(jì)原因難以支付入學(xué)費(fèi)用的學(xué)生;

B、本科學(xué)生

- 處于京東大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)認(rèn)可的等同于上述的困境的學(xué)生。

滿足以下任意條件的常規(guī)本科學(xué)生和研究生學(xué)生具備申請(qǐng)資格：

Living Expenses
Although the cost of living varies depending on factors such as housing expenditure and food budget, the average living expenses for international students in the Kyoto and Osaka area are ￥86,000 per month (excluding academic fees), according to the “Student Guide to Japan 2015 - 2016,” published by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).

Housing
Kyoto University has five International Houses, which provide accommodation for international students and researchers. However, the number of rooms available and tenancy period of the Houses are limited. International students are also eligible to apply for accommodation in public housing and Kyoto University?s Student Dormitories (open to domestic and international students). Many international students choose to live in private housing, such as private apartments.
Kyoto University International Houses
Kyoto University?s five accommodation facilities for international students and researchers, known as the Kyoto University International Houses, are located at Shugakuin, Yoshida, Uji, Ohbaku and Misasagi. The move-in periods for the Houses are April and October. International students who will be enrolled at Kyoto University within less than a year of their arrival in Japan are eligible to apply. The application periods are January and July (three months prior to movein). The tenancy period is either one year or six months (nonextendable in either case). To apply, please contact your faculty/graduate school office.

Apartments
To find an apartment, international students are advised to go to the Kyoto University CO-OP or real estate agencies after their arrival in Japan.

?Single room with shared kitchen and toilet: ￥25,000 - ￥30,000 per month
?Single room with private kitchen, toilet and bath: From ￥45,000 and up per month
In addition to rent, it is customary in Japan to pay other fees such as a key money, a deposit and an introduction fee. This can amount to an up-front payment of several months? rent when signing a lease. You will also need a suitable person to act as your guarantor
