September 25 - CIHR CGS Doctoral Scholarships - Valued at $35,000 per year for up to three years, the CIHR CGS Doctoral Scholarships are open to Canadian and Permanent Residents.
The application process is completed online, independatly from the University, within ResearchNet.CIHR provides a detailed application guide, and also provides application instructions.
A completed application will include:
1) A complete Common CV
2) A complete CIHR Doctoral Application
Students applying for the CIHR CGS Doctoral Scholarships are encouraged to attend the CGS Doctoral Awards workshop presented throughout the summer on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.

October 01 - CGS Vanier Scholarships - The 2017-18 CGS Vanier Scholarship Competition has been launched. Eligible students should contact their Faculty/Department to review the application process and work on a timeline for submission, as well as discuss review/editing sessions internally and with the School of Graduate Studies.
Applications must be submitted online no later than October 01, 2017 @ 8:00PM EST (subject to change).

October 09 - NSERC CGS Doctoral Scholarships - Applications to the NSERC Doctoral competition are submitted online through the NSERC Research Portal. Students applying through the University of New Brunswick must submit their application via the NSERC Research Portal no later than October 09, 2017 11:59PM EST.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS: (Subject to change)
October 09, 2017 - Deadline for completed applications to be submitted to the portal.
October 11, 2017 - Applications forwarded to Departments for Review and Ranking.
October 20, 2017 - Department reviews, ranks and comments back to SGS.
November 03, 2017 - Selection Committee Rankings complete.
November 10, 2017 - Comments and suggested edits back to applicants who will be forwarded to the National Competition.
November 25, 2017—NSERC NATIONAL DEADLINE. All Universities must have confirmed their applications in the NSERC portal. Late and ineligible applications will not be accepted
UNB applicants will be notified of the results of the UNB Internal competition.

October 14 (Suggested Departmental deadline) - SSHRC CGS Doctoral Scholarships - SSHRC Doctoral Awards, valued at up to $35,000 per year for 3 years, are available to Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. The application process involves completing an SSHRC On-Line Systemapplication and submitting all required documents by your Departments internal deadline.
The timeline (tentative and subject to change) for the UNB SSHRC Doctoral application process is as follows:
October 14, 2017 - Departmental Deadline (Suggested internal deadline - larger departments my require more time)
November 03, 2017 - Departments required to forward ranked applications to the School of Graduate Studies.
December 05, 2017 - Applications selected to be forwarded will be announced
December 20, 2017 - Applications to be forwarded to the National competition will be returned to students with suggested edits.
January 05, 2018 - Revised and FINAL copies of applications must be submitted to the School of Graduate Studies.
January 09, 2018 - Original copies of applications must be submitted to SSHRC.
