International Foundation Programme
The International Foundation Programme (IFP) enables students that don't have qualifications equivalent to British A-levels to access undergraduate university degree courses. If your highest level of qualification is the Senior High School Graduation Examination or Gau Kau, it is likely that you will need to complete this Programme before you can study for a degree. The IFP will provide you with the academic training, language and study skills to start your undergraduate studies with knowledge and confidence and will prepare you for undergraduate study in three ways:
by providing academic training in three subjects
by developing your English language abilities
by enabling you to acquire the study and life skills which you will need on your degree programme.

English Language Requirements
The minimum English language levels for courses at the University of Reading are IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (paper) 570, TOEFL (internet) 88. Some courses require higher levels - you should always check with the department or faculty you are applying to. For more detailed information see the English Language requirement page.
