International students must prove that they have sufficient funds available to pay for their educational and personal expenses. The following is the estimated average cost for a single undergraduate student for the 2017-2018 academic year. Cost increases should be expected for each subsequent academic year. Tuition and fees are 2016 actual costs plus 5%.

The tuition and fee figure above includes a $864 student service fee, $510 collegiate fee (may vary based on your college), $290 international student fee, $500 international student academic services fee, and $242 in miscellaneous fees. In addition, books and supplies are averaged at $1,000. Tuition and fees are subject to change and actual expenses will vary for individual students. The University of Minnesota is not responsible for any difference between these estimated costs and your actual costs. Cost increases should be expected for each subsequent academic year. Tuition and fees for the 2017-18 academic year will be finalized in July 2017.
