University international scholarships – a fee reduction of £3,000 per year for every year of your course
Sports scholarships – you can apply for a sports scholarship in any year of your studies

International College scholarships – for students from the University of Brighton International College starting a degree at the University of Brighton

(1)About these scholarships
In 2017 there are 10 University of Brighton international scholarships available to new, full-time international undergraduate taught-degree students.
The scholarship is worth a £3,000 reduction in the cost of your tuition fees for each year of your course.
Applications for 2017 are open between 1 November 2016 and 31 July 2017.

(2)Criteria
The criteria for awarding University of Brighton international scholarships are primarily merit-based. Merit does not necessarily have to mean academic merit but could also be interpreted to include outstanding performance in a variety of spheres.
The strongest candidates will be those demonstrating a mixture of academic merit (including English language ability) and other merit or outstanding achievement in a particular field of activity.
You will also need to show that you have sufficient funds to pay the remainder of the fees.

(3)Who is eligible?
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must be a new, full-time, international fee-status student holding an offer for an undergraduate taught degree.
You must have applied for the course of your choice at the University of Brighton or Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and have been offered a place on that course for 2016 entry.
Students studying foundation degrees or undergraduate degrees at University of Brighton partner colleges are not eligible for these scholarships.
These scholarships are not open to students that are fully sponsored.
Existing international students are not eligible unless starting a new undergraduate programme.

For the 2017 academic year, please email internationalscholarships@brighton.ac.uk with your University of Brighton student number or UCAS number in the subject line, and we will send you a scholarship application pack.
The application form can then be returned electronically to the same email address or sent by post to the address indicated on the scholarship application form. Please note application forms will not be sent to students who do not have an offer of a full-time place with us.

(5)Deadline for application
There are four application deadlines throughout the year: 31 January, 31 March, 31 May, and 31 July 2017. Early applications will be processed in line with these dates and awards made in the month following each deadline, with final awards coming at the end of August. Decisions will be made by an awards committee coordinated by the International Office and Academic Services, and decisions about scholarship awards will be communicated to applicants approximately two weeks after those dates.
You are advised to apply as early as possible after you have received our offer, as the number of scholarships is limited.
Please note that any accompanying documentation will not be returned and that the university's Scholarship Award Committee's decision is final.

Receipt of scholarships
These scholarships are paid in the autumn of the year they are awarded. They are partly funded by the university's ambassadors group.
We have two different types of sports scholarships:
The elite athletes / elite disabled athletes scholarships are for students who have reached a national level of competition or performance and have the potential and dedication to reach world-class performance level.
The talented sports performers scholarship is for students who have represented their sport at national or regional level or who are able to demonstrate that they have the potential to compete at these levels.

Who is eligible to apply?
You should have reached a junior or senior national level of competition or performance and have the potential and dedication to reach world-class performance level (or equivalent) in your sport.
You should have been accepted on a University of Brighton course or be a current student of the university, or a directly funded course at a partner college.

4.INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Brighton International College (UBIC) offers a range of partial scholarships to international students who successfully complete their course at the college and progress onto studying at the university.
Students with the best academic grades, excellent attendance and who have contributed to the student community at the International College may be eligible to a £2,000 scholarship.

Pestalozzi scholarships, which are available for the three years of an undergraduate degree, cover the full cost of tuition fees and also provide a financial bursary which meets half of your living costs.
Pestalozzi scholars are expected to meet the rest of their living costs from paid employment.
Who is eligible
University of Brighton Pestalozzi scholarships are open to students at thePestalozzi International Village, Sedlescombe, East Sussex who wish to go on to higher education and who would not be able to do so without the support of the scheme.
Pestalozzi students are all exceptionally able, having achieved high educational qualifications and shown a commitment to community service. All have shown intentions to return home and assist in the social and economic development of their home countries.
