1.How do I apply?
First you must apply for one of our courses. We recommend you submit your application for a course by Friday 28 April 2017. This is so the Admissions team have enough time to assess your application and issue you with an applicant number, before the scholarship application deadline. Late scholarship applications will not be considered.
Apply for a scholarship via your student portal eVision, by 31 May 2017 11:59pm (GMT). The application will include a 500 word essay (please write about activities, achievements and personal qualities relevant to your application). Your responses, along with your course application and grades, will be the main focus of the Scholarship Panel’s deliberations and should therefore be written carefully and spell-checked. Make sure that your application is complete before you submit it. We will not accept incomplete applications and you cannot provide additional information once your application is submitted. You may only apply once.
If you are applying for a course starting in January 2018 please do not apply yet. Applications for our January 2018 scholarships will open on 1st July 2017. If you apply early your application WILL NOT be considered.

2.Eligibility criteria
To be considered for the International Excellence scholarship you must:
Have been assessed by Brunel University London as an international student for fees purposes.
Have an offer to study full-time on an undergraduate, postgraduate taught or a postgraduate research programme of study starting in September 2017 or January 2018.
Satisfy the entry criteria for admission to the chosen programme of study.
Not be a current registered Brunel student on a full time or part time undergraduate or postgraduate programme. This scholarship is not available also to students on the London Brunel International College (LBIC) programmes and distance learning versions of courses, or the English@Brunel, Pre-sessional English and Intensive Foundation or Premasters courses through the International Pathways and Language Centre (IPLC).
Have not been in receipt of a Brunel International Scholarship previously, either as part of current or earlier studies.
Agree that by accepting a scholarship you will become a Student Ambassador for the University. You will be welcomed into the University at a Scholar's Reception during your first weeks and may be asked to:
a) Take part in photo shoots and filming events organised by the International Recruitment or Marketing team (maximum of three).
b) Write a profile of yourself (250 words) that should include some or all of the following points – Why you chose Brunel – Your life at the university – How your course at Brunel will contribute to your career.
c) Help support Brunel's social media activity aimed at engaging potential and current international students.
d) Give feedback and advice on how to apply for a Brunel international scholarship for future applicants, as required.
e) Meet guests from overseas universities or embassies.
f) Other activities by request include hosting tours of the campus, helping at Open Days and, participating in other marketing activity.
Successful applicants will be contacted by the International Recruitment or Marketing team as and when your participation would be appreciated.

3.Key dates for 2017/18 scholarships
28 April: You should ensure your course application reaches Brunel by this date. If your course application is received after this date we cannot guarantee issuing you with an applicant number in time to apply for a scholarship.
31 May 11.59pm (GMT): Applications must be submitted by this date. Do not leave your application to the last minute! Also be sure to check what time 12pm GMT is in your local time.
Mid-July: The International Scholarship Panel will meet in June to consider scholarship awards. In mid-July all applicants will be informed whether or not they have been successful (this may be subject to change if a very large volume of applications are received). Successful applicants will be informed in the first instance by email and will be required to respond by email to accept the offer. All decisions will be made by the Brunel International Scholarship Panel. Decisions made are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
August: Successful applicants must ensure that they meet all the standard conditions of their course offer from Brunel (including paying the deposit) before they enrol in September. Exact dates will depend upon your course.
October: Welcome event for new scholarship winners.
November: Awards ceremony with the Vice-Chancellor.

4.International Excellence Scholarship terms and conditions 2017/18

(1). Scholarship details
We are offering 50 Scholarships comprising of a £3000 discount on the cost of tuition fees (to be discounted from the total course tuition fee). The scholarship is available to international applicants on any undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD programme starting in September 2017 or January 2018.
Application process: Applicants starting the course in September must submit an online scholarship application via the student portal eVision by 11.59 pm (GMT) on 31 May 2017. Late applications will not be considered.
Applicants starting in January cannot apply for the scholarship until 1st July 2017 and must submit an online scholarship application via eVision by 11.59 pm (GMT) on 29 October 2017.
The application will include a 500 word essay describing why the applicant has applied to Brunel and why they would make a good ambassador for the course and University.

(3). Allocation
Scholarship awards are decided by the International Scholarship Panel and all decisions are final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the decisions made by the Panel.
Candidates will be considered based on their academic merit and personal statement.
Scholarships are awarded for the September and January entry of the academic year 2017/18 and will not be deferred to later years of entry. Course applicants who intend to defer their studies must re-apply for a scholarship in the year they will begin their studies.
All applicants will be notified of the panel's decision by the middle of July 2017 for applicants starting in September and the middle of November for those applicants starting in January.

(4). Conditions of payment
Scholarship awardees will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees after the scholarship contribution is deducted from the total fees for the academic year 2017/18.
All awards will comprise a £3000 fee waiver from the cost of tuition fees for the academic year 2017/18. This discount is a single contribution and will not be continued in subsequent years and is not applicable to any additional fees such as re-submission or module resit fees. No cash alternative will be provided.
The scholarship does not replace the deposit of £3000. All scholarship winners will need to pay the £3000 deposit for their course in order to receive an unconditional offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). The amount of your scholarship will be deducted from the remaining fees.
The scholarships cannot be combined with any other University bursary, discount or awards, except the 2% prompt payment discount. This will be deducted from the tuition fees remaining after the scholarship discount has been applied at enrolment.
Scholarship awards will not be credited towards tuition fees until the applicant has fully enrolled at Brunel University London, which includes having had their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked, and then completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study.
Scholarship awardees who have already paid the full course fees can visit the Student Centre to request a refund of any overpayment; once they have met all conditions of their offer and enrolled onto their main course in person.
Successful applicants will not be eligible to apply for this scholarship programme in subsequent years (i.e. If you are successful in achieving a scholarship for an undergraduate course at Brunel in Year one, you will not be able to apply for the scholarship again in Year two, nor will you be able to apply for the scheme again if you choose to do a postgraduate course at the University).
(4)支付條件

(5). Withdrawal of scholarship
The University reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from anyone who is found to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek repayment of any monies already paid by appropriate means.
The University reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from anyone who fails to comply with the requirement to take part in promotional activities, as stated in section three of these Terms and Conditions.
A student who withdraws from their chosen programme of study prior to completion of Term 1 will not normally be requested to repay scholarship payments made up to withdrawal; however, the University reserves the right to charge tuition fees for the period between the start of the course and the date of withdrawal. A student in receipt of a scholarship who withdraws from their programme will not normally be requested to repay the scholarship. Any tuition fee liability remaining at the point of withdrawal is therefore calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy.
A student electing to take a period of temporary withdrawal (abeyance) will only receive the scholarship once at the start of the course. If tuition fees remain due when returning from a period of temporary withdrawal then these would need to be paid upon return.
Fee waivers are applied at the start of the academic year as part/all of a scholarship entitlement and will not normally be amended once the fee waiver has been processed. Any tuition fee liability remaining after fee waivers are applied would therefore be calculated in accordance with Student Financial Policy. In the case of withdrawal or abeyance the tuition fee and the fee waiver are calculated in accordance with Student Financial Policy
(5)獎學(xué)金撤銷
