China Ambassador Scholarships will be available to undergraduate or postgraduate taught students applying to UCLan from a SQA HND Centre or Study Abroad Centre in China or via a partner institution or official agent of UCLan. The awards are to the value of one third of the tuition fee payable for the first year of study. Students who receive this scholarship will not be entitled to any other scholarships, but are entitled to the early payment bursary.
To be eligible for such a scholarship, students must meet the UCLan academic and English language entry criteria at the point of initial application.
To apply for such an award, applicants must be nationals of, and resident in the PR China at the time of application. Students are required to write a letter of application covering the following points, in no more than 500 words:

What has been your biggest challenge to date and how did you overcome this.
Give an example of a situation where you have used your leadership skills to achieve a goal for a team.
What ideas do you have for promoting UCLan if you receive the award

2.EARLY PAYMENT BURSARY
300 GBP
Students who pay their tuition fees (which total in excess of £5,500) in full before or at enrolment will be entitled to an Early Payment Bursary of 300 GBP.
This is subject to the terms of any other bursary/scholarship awarded. This bursary will be administed by Customer Accounts upon your arrival at UCLan.

1,500 GBP offered to all students who progress from a formally recognised articulation programme, with an agreement between their institution and UCLan.
This scholarship is applicable to each year of undergraduate study at UCLan. If such students meet the Excellence Scholarship critiera for their country, the total value of the Articulation Scholarship will be 2,000 GBP. Students who receive this scholarship will not be entitled to any other scholarship.
Students do not need to apply for this scholarship. If applicable, the scholarship will be highlighted on your offer letter.

7.ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIPS
30 available
Academy Scholarships will be available to undergraduate or postgraduate taught students applying to attend the final block of the Pre-Sessional programme.
The awards are the value of the tuition fee for the last block of the Pre-Sessional programme and will constitute a tuition fee waiver.
For undergraduate entry, students must have achieved IELTS 5.5 with no component below 5.0 and for postgraduate entry, students must have IELTS 6.0 with no component below 5.5.
These awards will be offered on a first come first served basis. No application is required.

There is a partnership in place between Chevening and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), which allows for the two organisations to cover the full tuition fee costs; a living allowance and return flights for the successful applicants.
The Chevening Secretariat makes the final selection of students.
Applications for this scholarship scheme closed on 8 November 2016.
Applications for 2018 entry will open in August 2017.

Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s and PhD study in the UK are offered for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), with the aim of contributing to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, supporting excellence in UK higher education, and sustaining the principles of the Commonwealth.

UCLan is co-funding one Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year for any of these programmes:
MSc Applied Public Health
MSc Renewable Energy Engineering
Students should apply directly to the University for an offer of a place on one of the above programmes, and then apply independently to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) for funding, using their Electronic Application System (EAS)
The deadline for applications is 29 March 2017.
The university will then nominate a candidate and a reserve, and submit nominations to CSC online by 26 April 2017.
