ABOUT
RAGS assists PhD, Masters by Research and Masters by Coursework candidates with the School to enrich their research and candidature. The Scheme allows students to apply for assistance. Schools allocate a portion of their research budget for graduate use, in addition to the funds that support graduate journals and school conferences.
If you wish to apply for research funding to support a conference presentation or research travel for example, please refer to the guidelines which outline eligibility and application procedures.

BENEFITS
Funding will be awarded of up to $2,500 per candidature for PhD students, and $1250 per candidature for Masters by Research students.

Taxation on scholarships
Scholarships awarded to part-time students are assessed as taxable income by the Australian Taxation Office (under section 51-10 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997).
To ensure the correct rate of income tax is withheld, part-time students will be asked to provide a Tax File Number (TFN) Declaration Form prior to payment.
For further information on whether a scholarship is taxable, please visit the Australian Taxation Office website.
