2013年6月，雅思考試美國辦公室負責人(IELTS USA)攜手哥倫比亞大學(Columbia University)， 加州大學洛杉磯分校 (UCLA)，密歇根大學(University of Michigan)三所美國頂尖名校的招生官和資深英語教學專家與中國學生零距離面對面。
雅思考試目前廣為世界各國政府、院校機構認可。在全世界有120多個國家和地區(qū)舉行，是世界上增長最快的國家。雅思在美國也同樣被廣泛認可。在此，英國大使館文化教育處提供了，最受國際學生歡迎的19所美國院校雅思分數(shù)要求。此排名源自Open Doors公布的最受國際學生歡迎美國院校排名，數(shù)據(jù)更新于2013年5月。統(tǒng)計顯示，19所最受國際學生歡迎的美國院校當中，全部院校的本科課程和研究生課程接受雅思成績的申請。
