1. devote sth to (doing) sth 把時(shí)間(錢(qián)，精力等)獻(xiàn)給某事物。如：
They devoted a great deal of money to the improvement of the railway station. 他們花了一大筆錢(qián)來(lái)改善火車(chē)站的條件。
He devoted all his free time to playing the piano. 他把所有的業(yè)余的時(shí)間都用來(lái)彈鋼琴。
2. devote oneself to sb (doing sth)
(1) 獻(xiàn)身于或致力于(做)某事。如：
After he graduated he continued to devote himself to research. 畢業(yè)之后他繼續(xù)致力于研究工作。
He devoted himself to helping the poor. 他致力于幫助窮人。
(2) 專(zhuān)用于。如：
The newspaper devotes two pages to comics. 這份報(bào)紙用兩頁(yè)版面刊登連環(huán)漫畫(huà)。
(3) 喜歡，熱愛(ài)。如：
She devoted herself to tennis in her teens. 她在少女時(shí)代熱衷于網(wǎng)球。
3. be devoted to sb (doing sth)
(1) 致力于，獻(xiàn)身于。如：
The students are devoted to their studies. 學(xué)生們專(zhuān)心于學(xué)習(xí)。
(2) 專(zhuān)用于。如：
This dictionary is devoted to explaining word usage. 這本詞典是解釋詞的用法的。
(3) 喜歡，疼愛(ài)。如：
She is devoted to her children. 她疼愛(ài)她的孩子。
The couple were devoted to each other. 兩夫妻感情很好。
