在澳大利亞，墨爾本大學、悉尼大學、昆士蘭大學、澳洲國立大學、西澳大學以及邦德大學的法學院都享有很高的聲譽。每個大學法律專業(yè)的偏向不同，墨爾本大學以其理論見長，悉尼大學則以開設課程多選擇面廣見長，邦德大學開設備受青睞的JD課程，西澳大學結(jié)合自己的地理優(yōu)勢開設獨一無二的水資源、礦產(chǎn)、森林法。學生可以結(jié)合自己的專業(yè)背景和以后的職業(yè)方向，選擇適合自己就讀的課程。
澳洲的法律碩士(LLM)長度通常是一年。需要申請人具有法律的本科學位。學生可以在法律碩士下面選擇不同的主攻方向，比如國際法、商法、行政法等等。需要注意的是，學生讀完法律碩士后并不能獲得澳洲的律師資格。
如果想獲得澳洲的律師資格，學生可以考慮選擇JD課程就讀，時間為3年。悉尼大學，莫納什大學，墨爾本大學等澳洲著名大學都有開設此課程。
