《麥克林》對大學的排名也是考慮相關(guān)大學的很多因素才確定該校排列地位，這包括為學生服務(wù)的直接開支多寡、獎學金的多少、圖書館規(guī)模和學校獲得國家科研資金的數(shù)額。其中每個因素都有具體內(nèi)容，比如學生服務(wù)項就包括：學校行政服務(wù)、校園生活、商店和圖書館、教學輔導、計算機設(shè)施、食堂和餐廳以及醫(yī)療和安全設(shè)施等。所以該排名可以全面的評析一個學校，給家長一個重要的參考依據(jù)。
